When you fight a person you don't fight a style, you dont fight a technique you fight that person.

| Sorry to drift a bit from the question but before I hazard an opinion could I ask as to whether anyone feels as though the art they practise has changed the way the act, think, feel etc. I reckon that if this is the case eg a tai-chi practicioner becoming gradually more relaxed both mentally and physically over time while someone who does Hsing-i becomes more 'in-your-face' and aggressive then the style (but not the technique) and person become indistinguishable. I'm not one for introspection so I can't comment on myself but maybe someone else's views would help. |

I would agree with that. It's along the same lines as other concepts such as,
"A style is only as good as the person using it."
I personally believe a little deeper than this though. I believe that a true fighter doesn't try to fight at all - the fight just 'happens' through him...
